Joseph DiBella has taken a leave of absence as a trustee of Brookdale Community College, in New Jersey, amid a controversy over his Twitter account, The Asbury Park Press reported. Some students and faculty members have been calling for his ouster since August, when it was revealed that his Twitter account had liked tweets that used a racial slur and called President Obama a "monkey." DiBella says his Twitter account was hacked and he has suggested the faculty union is responsible -- although professors deny this. DiBella said he took the leave because of the controversy and a threat he had received, and that he may return after an investigation of his allegations of hacking and of the threat.
