The University of California at San Francisco on Monday announced its largest gift: $185 million from Joan and Sanford I. Weill, philanthropists who in the past have given more than $600 million to Cornell University. The new gift will create the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences, which will seek to accelerate the development of therapies for diseases affecting the brain and nervous system, including psychiatric disorders.
