A professor at Texas A&M University is being sued by a biotechnology company that claims he gave away trade secrets in a footnote of a paper he gave at a conference, violating the terms of an agreement the company had with the University of Connecticut, where the professor formerly worked, the Associated Press reported. Lawyers for Thomas K. Wood, the professor, told the AP that similar information had previously been made public with the company's approval.
The men's basketball coach at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, upset by the poor performance of his team, barred the squad from its own locker room, forcing athletes to change in the media work area, the AP reported. In addition, players on the 6-9 team have been banned from wearing clothing with the university's name.
