Political science has a gender publication gap but several studies have found no evidence of bias against women in the journal review process. A new study based on a survey of American Political Science Association members provides some insight into what's going on: a gender submission gap to journals is accompanied by a "gender perception" gap in some cases. "Women report that they are more likely to submit to and get published in some journals, whereas men report as such with regard to other journals," the study says. "Importantly, these gaps are observed even among scholars with the same methodological (i.e., quantitative or qualitative) approach." Read more in PS: Political Science & Politics.
