Niche, an admissions company, is the latest to enter the direct admissions market. The space is attracting considerable interest. Other players include EAB (which purchased Concourse), Sage Scholars, the Common Application and individual colleges. The state of Minnesota also just launched its own direct admissions program.

“Our position is quite unique given the student-first nature of our platform and our incredibly high organic capture of high schoolers searching for colleges—one out of every two college-bound students is using Niche in their college decision-making process,” said Athena Meyers, chief operating officer of Niche.

The colleges involved are:

  • Clarkson University
  • Dominican University (of Illinois)
  • Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at the New School
  • Houston Christian University
  • Illinois Institute of Technology
  • Illinois Wesleyan University
  • Mount St. Mary’s University (Maryland)
  • Regent University
  • Spring Arbor University
  • Stockton University
  • University of the Pacific
  • University of Virginia’s College at Wise
  • Washington & Jefferson College
