Commencement Speakers Announced: Bard Simon's Rock, Bemidji State, Fresno Pacific, High Point U, Linfield, Long Island U, Meredith, Roosevelt U, St. Bonaventure, St. Lawrence, St. Mary's, Syracuse

The following colleges and universities have announced their commencement speakers for spring 2015:

  • Bard College at Simon’s Rock: Journalist and humorist Henry Alford.
  • Bemidji State University: Jon McTaggart, president and CEO of American Public Media Group.
  • Fresno Pacific University: Juan Martínez, vice provost, academic director of the Hispanic Center and professor of Hispanic studies and pastoral leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary.
  • High Point University: Tom Brokaw, the former NBC anchor.
  • Linfield College: Gale Castillo, president and one of the founders of the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber in Portland, Ore.
  • Long Island University: Karen Brooks Hopkins, president of the Brooklyn Academy of Music; Lynne Greene, worldwide group president of the Estée Lauder Corporation; and John Kanas, president and CEO of BankUnited.
  • Meredith College: Jo Allen, president of the college, who took office in July 2011 just before the Class of 2015 started.
  • Roosevelt University: U.S. Representative Mike Quigley and Goldie Wolfe Miller, a real estate developer.
  • St. Bonaventure University: Tim Brown, president and chief executive officer of Nestlé Waters North America.
  • St. Lawrence University: John Angelo, an executive in the hedge fund industry; Judy Hart Angelo, a songwriter; and Peter Hatch, a garden historian.
  • St. Mary's College of Maryland: Rashad Robinson, executive director of ColorOfChange.
  • Syracuse University: Mary Karr, the poet and memoirist.
