Northern Iowa Adjusts Faculty Pay to Address Inequities

The University of Northern Iowa and its faculty union on Friday announced a plan to raise the salaries of 51 faculty members to address inequities in pay. The increases -- totaling $155,064 -- are based on a review of all faculty members that identified those who were paid less than others with comparable records of teaching, research, service, longevity and other factors. Of the 51 faculty members who are having the salaries raised, 36 are women. Of the 15 men, four are racial/ethnic minorities.
