Central Oregon Community College has reached a legal settlement with a student who was allegedly stabbed by a roommate whom he said he had complained about and asked college officials to replace, The Bulletin of Bend, Ore., reported. The newspaper said that James Briles would be receiving a cash settlement of an undisclosed amount to resolve Briles's lawsuit charging the college with breaching its duty in several ways.
