Controversial legislation in Georgia to rename the Technical College System of Georgia has stalled, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported. Governor Nathan Deal, a Republican, wants the colleges to be renamed "career colleges," but many educators have opposed the change, saying that it would cost too much money and would make the colleges appear to be for-profit institutions. Legislators are still studying the idea but report that there is not enough time in this legislative session to pass the bill.
