The family of Robert Champion -- a Florida A&M University student who died in November 2011 incident of hazing by the marching band, of which he was a member -- has agreed to settle a lawsuit over his death, The Orlando Sentinel reported. The university will pay the family $300,000, and the hotel whose parking lot was the site of the hazing will pay $800,000. The university has also agreed to rename an antihazing program for Champion, and to place a commemorative plaque for him in the band room on campus.
