UW Madison Twitter Temporarily Hacked

Perhaps echoing the thoughts of many students downcast after a rough spring semester, the University of Wisconsin at Madison's Twitter account on Wednesday asked, "lol why go to university when u can just sit at home and fail at life and stuff." An unknown user had taken control of the account, the university said after regaining control and deleting the tweets. The hacker posted a total of four tweets, including a link to a music video by rapper XXXTentacion.

"The situation is a reminder to all social media users to employ strong passwords, two-factor authentication and a periodic review of access and third-party apps," the university said.
