President of Saint Mary's of Indiana Abruptly Resigns

October 8, 2018

The president of Saint Mary’s College abruptly resigned Friday, according to an open letter sent to the South Bend Tribune. Janice Cervelli, who had served as president since June 2016, will be replaced by Nancy Nekvasil, the current provost, effective immediately.

It’s unclear why Cervelli resigned; the letter contained no statement from Cervelli, and a spokeswoman from the college told the South Bend Tribune that "there is no additional information available at this time."
