Jo Johnson, the younger brother of U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, resigned from his posts as science and universities minister and as a Tory member of Parliament on Thursday, Politico's European edition reported. His resignation came as a bill to block Britain from exiting the European Union without a deal is under consideration in Parliament. Johnson, who unlike his brother supported Britain remaining in the E.U. during the 2016 Brexit referendum, cited an "unresolvable tension" and said he was "torn between family loyalty and the national interest."
