Three scholars won Pulitzer Prizes Friday. They are:
- Marcia Chatelain, a professor of history and African American studies at Georgetown University, who won the prize in history for Franchise: The Golden Arches in Black America (Norton).
- Natalie Diaz, the Maxine and Jonathan Marshall Chair in Modern and Contemporary Poetry at Arizona State University, who won the prize for poetry for Postcolonial Love Poem (Graywolf Press).
- Tania León, a professor emeritus at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, who won the prize for music for Stride.
