2 Iowa State Students Killed at Church

June 6, 2022

A gunman killed two Iowa State University students outside a church Thursday, The Des Moines Register reported. The shooter had recently been charged with harassing one of the students.

A statement from Iowa State said that many students attend the church. The statement said “we are heartbroken” to learn of the deaths of Eden Montang, a senior, and Vivian Flores, a junior. “This is an especially difficult time as we also process recent shooting deaths that have occurred across the country. There is no justification for this senseless gun violence. These terrible tragedies must end,” said the university.
