Ada Limón Named U.S. Poet Laureate

Ada Limón was named the 24th U.S. poet laureate today. She will assume the role in the fall, The New York Times reported.
Limón is the author of six books of poetry.
She on the faculty in the M.F.A. program at Queens University, in North Carolina.
In an interview with the Times, she said, “Right now, so often we are going numb to grief and numb to tragedy and numb to crisis,” she said. “Poetry is a way back in, to recognizing that we are feeling human beings. And feeling grief and feeling trauma can actually allow us to feel joy again.”
