The University of Virginia is the latest traditional institution to embrace a tech boot camp -- and it will do so with a pioneer in the boot-camp space forming its first partnership with a university.
Under the arrangement, announced today, General Assembly, which was among the earliest and is by far the biggest of the providers of short-term, intense programs in technology fields, will work with UVA's School of School of Continuing and Professional Studies to offer 24-week part-time programs in Washington, D.C., and its Northern Virginia suburbs. The initial programs, taught by industry experts, will be in software engineering and data science.
Another company, Noodle Partners, will help UVA and General Assembly expand the programs.
