Mainak Sarkar, a former doctoral student at the University of California at Los Angeles, left a "kill list" that authorities found in Sarkar's Minnesota home after Sarkar killed William Klug, a UCLA professor, Wednesday, The Los Angeles Times reported. The list indicated that Sarkar planned to kill a second professor, a woman who has not been identified, but who is safe. Another woman, whom Sarkar married in 2011, was found shot to death in the Minnesota residence.

On Thursday, UCLA students were leaving tributes to Klug at a prominent location on campus.

Also on Thursday, UCLA released a full obituary of Klug, noting his achievements as a scholar and teacher. And more than 1,000 people on Thursday night attended a vigil at the university in Klug's memory.
