Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson will serve as Edinboro University’s interim president effective Dec. 31, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education announced Wednesday. She will simultaneously continue in her role as president of Clarion University, also part of the state system.
In September, the system announced that three system universities -- Clarion, Edinboro and California University -- would move to integrate to “expand and enhance student opportunities while also preserving their affordability,” according to a press release. Pehrsson is part of the team overseeing the integration effort.
Pehrsson’s appointment follows news that outgoing Edinboro president Guiyou Huang will leave the university after 18 months in January to serve as Western Illinois University’s next president.
