Faculty Cuts Criticized at Marywood

Marywood University, in Pennsylvania, is eliminating the jobs of 10 faculty members, eight of them tenure track, who were hired just last fall, The Times Leader reported. While the university says that the cuts are needed, faculty leaders say the institution has been spending too much on construction, and that the implied commitments of new faculty hires should not be abandoned.
