Retraction Watch, a blog that tracks retractions of scholarly articles, will expand its coverage thanks to a $400,000 grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. In a blog post, the founder Ivan Oransky said the grant will fund the creation of a "comprehensive and freely available database of retractions," so researchers can check if a paper they plan to cite has been retracted. Retraction Watch will also hire a database developer and an editor.
