The Review of Higher Education, an official publication of the Association for the Study of Higher Education, temporarily suspended submissions this summer due to a significant backlog. ASHE announced late last week that it will reopen submissions late next summer and shared an interim plan to clear up the backlog -- starting with an accelerated publication schedule, with a 10 articles in the September issue, compared to the typical five or six. For about the next year, each issue will feature 16 articles. All manuscripts accepted before the freeze will be published by early 2020, and articles now in review will be published by mid-2020. A preprint site will soon go live, and accepted articles will be available online as soon as they are copyedited and formatted. Book reviews will soon be published online only.
