Hopkins Replaces Director of Summer Programs
July 5, 2022
Johns Hopkins University has replaced the director of the Center for Talented Youth shortly after hundreds of families were told that the program would not serve them this year, The Washington Post reported. Virginia Roach, who was replaced, blamed the cancellations on lack of staffing. But she made the calls only at the last minute, when many of the high school students in the program were already traveling. Johns Hopkins provost Sunil Kumar announced that Stephen Gange, a professor and executive vice provost for academic affairs, would take over as the program’s interim executive director. Kumar called Gange a “trusted leader” and “proud parent of a CTY alumna.”
