From Rachel Toor
Among the many weirdnesses and quirks of a higher education system that operates in no way like a system is the fact that we all have different calendars. Need I say more than “spring break”?
I teach at a university that has two entirely different calendars, one on semesters and the other on quarters (don’t ask). At this time of year, teaching on the latter schedule means I labor to contain my envy of those who are mere days away from being finished with this annus horribilis.
While some of you will be breathing deep sighs of relief at the end of this month, please remember those of us still slogging through the slop who have miles to go before we sleep.
