Philanthropy is defined as a desire to improve overall welfare. In today's Academic Minute, the University of Michigan's Kathryn Heinze shows the potential of philanthropy when an NFL franchise focuses on the community. Heinz is an assistant professor of sport management at Michigan, and co-wrote this study with Michigan's Sara Soderstrom, an assistant professor of organizational studies.
