Sterling Partners' Educational Opportunity Fund, which has invested in numerous technology and other companies in the higher education and workforce preparation markets, has a new name as it seeks to carve out a more visible presence.
The fund, which will now be known as Avathon Capital, has more than $400 million in assets under management. It has invested in companies such as the video content platform Panopto and the National Research Council for College and University Admissions, which it sold to ACT this year.
