Internships Don’t Scale: Combining Industry Immersion with Study Away
Explore the vital role of work-integrated learning in helping today’s students acheive their goals and dreams.

There is growing demand across the globe from students, parents, schools and employers to have more work-integrated and industry-immersive learning. Research shows that a work-integrated learning opportunity doubles students’ odds of becoming successful later in life. Internships – as an example – are highly sought after.
But while they are very valuable, they simply aren't scalable. In 2024 there were 8.2 million college students who wanted an internship in the U.S., yet only 3.6 million had access to one and only 2.5 million had a quality one. There is massive demand that hasn’t been addressed and opportunities for organizations to help close the gap with creative, scalable solutions.
Join a live webinar featuring Brandon Busteed, CEO of BrandEd; Seth Bodnar, president at University of Montana; Kristen Fox, CEO of the Business-Higher Education Forum; and Autumn Beechler Stebing, director of education abroad at Case Western Reserve University, as they share perspectives from the field on how critical work-integrated learning is for today’s students to realize their goals and dreams.
In this session, the panelists will discuss:
- The attributes of the most effective work-integrated learning
- How to scale work-integrated learning opportunities beyond internships
- The winning combination of study away and industry immersion
