The University of Missouri at Columbia has agreed to recognize a Christian fraternity, even though that group violates the university's ban on religious discrimination, the Associated Press reported. The fraternity -- like similar groups at other campuses -- argued that its right to religioius expression entitles it to restrict membership.
Damage from a tornado on Christmas Day caused at least $50 million in damage at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. The tornado hit dozens of airplanes -- as well as buildings -- at the university, which has pushed the start of the spring semester back by six days, to January 16.
A Congressional aide has been fired after contacting two people authorities say he believed could break into the Texas Christian University computer system and change his grades, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
