Students at Scripps College are objecting to the selection of Madeleine Albright as commencement speaker, The Los Angeles Times reported. Albright's selection was initially assumed to be a coup for the women's college, since she is the first woman to serve as U.S. secretary of state. But students and some faculty members object to parts of her diplomatic record, and also to controversial statements she made criticizing women who aren't backing the presidential candidacy of Hillary Clinton. Albright told the newspaper that "people have a right to state their views," but added, "I also think they have a duty to listen to people that they might disagree with."
