An escaped federal prisoner was found in the library of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, The Indianapolis Star reported. Authorities said that Michael Ward escaped from a federal prison work camp in Indiana, and apparently took a prison car and drove to the University of Illinois. A campus police officer said that Ward looked nervous, and that when asked for identification, he turned over a federal prison ID. He had been serving a 10-year sentence for fraud. Officials do not know why he went to the library.
