A report from the Texas state auditor found that more than 60,000 students who were eligible for financial aid during the last academic year didn't get it. The report examines the impact of rising tuition rates at public universities.
A nationwide survey of Americans with student loans found that increasing percentages of borrowers see their debt as a burden. The survey, by Cambridge Credit Counseling, found that 30 percent of borrowers this year viewed student loan debt as a major burden, up from 20 percent in 2002.
The AARP has named 3 universities and 4 university medical centers to its list of the top 50 employers for people over the age of 50. The universities named were Cornell University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Virginia Commonwealth University. The medical centers named were the University of Colorado Hospital Authority, University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, West Virginia University Hospitals, and Yale-New Haven Hospital.
