- Colorado State University at Pueblo is starting a new focus for a bachelor of science in engineering degree in the fall. The new emphasis is on mechatronics, which combines mechanical and electrical engineering with computers.
- DeVry University plans to start a new bachelor's degree in game and simulation programming in March. The degree will be offered at DeVry's California campuses in Long Beach, Pomona, and West Hills.
- Goucher College is starting a certificate program in historic preservation, to be offered in Annapolis this fall. Goucher, which is based in Baltimore, already offers a certificate program in historic preservation in Washington, but the Annapolis program will focus on the traditions of maritime regions.
- Hollins and Illinois Wesleyan Universities are both adding majors in environmental studies, starting in the fall.
