Arizona Bans Most Purses and Bags at Athletic Events

December 4, 2015

The University of Arizona, citing "recent international events," has set new security rules for those attending athletic events, The Arizona Daily Star reported. Most purses and other bags will be banned, as will large seat cushions with covers or zippers for compartments. The number of entrances will be reduced to increase scrutiny at each one. “While there is no credible threat to the university, one major piece of our job is to stay vigilant,” said a statement from the university. “While this may seem inconvenient to some, your safety and security is our highest priority.”
