Ohio U Is Silent on Its Roger E. Ailes Newsroom

August 22, 2016

Ohio University is not commenting on whether it will keep the name of the Roger E. Ailes Newsroom, for which Ailes (at right) contributed $500,000 to his alma mater's radio and television stations, part of the journalism program there. Ailes has resigned as head of Fox News. While he has denied wrongdoing, he resigned amid charges by multiple women at Fox that he harassed them, in many cases for years. Ohio University released a statement to The Washington Post: “The university is carefully monitoring the situation, including the perspectives of multiple stakeholders in our community, but will not make public comments on the issue at this time.”
