College of Ouachitas to Join Arkansas State System

College of the Ouachitas, a free-standing community college in Arkansas, will become part of the Arkansas State University System next year, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

Several of the state's two-year institutions are part of either the Arkansas State or University of Arkansas systems, and officials at Ouachitas discussed aligning with the University of Arkansas as well as other possible mergers, the newspaper said.
