Some faculty members in West Virginia walked out of class last week to protest fast-moving legislation that would permit those in the state with concealed-carry permits to bring guns on campuses. Professors said that the bill, if enacted, would hurt campus safety. Some said that this kind of legislation would discourage some academics from taking jobs in the state.
