Wis. Indianhead Technical College to Change Name

Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College announced that it will be changing its name in 2021, though the new name is as yet undetermined. The college said that through a market and brand research project, results showed that “Indianhead” is not recognized as a geographic region, especially among younger adults and those outside the college’s area.

“The current name, ‘Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College,’ and its short initials, ‘WITC,’ caused confusion on what type of college WITC is and whether it's even a college,” the college said in its announcement.
