Another campus sustainability competition is underway, and this one has a video feed.
Actually, it's not "another" competition -- it's the third (that I'm aware of) iteration of a familiar contest -- the National Wildlife Federation's "Chill Out" competition. Campuses compete by submitting a 500-word essay about their sustainability efforts, and a 3-minute video. The video gets posted at www.GoGreenTube.com. Just for reference, you can view one of last year's winning videos here. (But be warned, the bar in these competitions rises rapidly. Submissions which would have won in year n are often also-rans in year n + 1.)
By the way, kind of like the Encyclopedia of Earth without all that text and data, GoGreenTube.com aims to be a comprehensive global (if that's not redundant) information source. Right now, a lot of the postings have an over-strong Obama-vs-McCain flavor to them, but one can hope it's only temporary. (Here we are, just done with the conventions, and I'm already tired of the campaigning. Acceptance speech viewership may be up, but overall television viewership is down, at least in my house. And it's likely to get even down-er over the next couple of months. Oh, for the days of Gil Scott Heron!)
