If artificial intelligence is key to the future of enrollment management—and many experts say it is—teams and their institutions need to understand how, when and why AI works. Our new special report, “Beyond the Hype: Understanding and Unlocking AI’s Potential in Enrollment Management,” out today, explores to what extent admissions and enrollment management teams are already deploying AI to enhance their work, before looking ahead to what the near- and longer-term futures of AI in enrollment management might look like.

The report also touches on AI’s implications for key issues facing the field, including the looming enrollment cliff and burnout among enrollment management professionals. It concludes with best practices for building data readiness and AI literacy among team members.

“Enrollment managers are in the center of data and technology at most institutions because of the nature of their work,” said MJ Knoll-Finn, senior vice president for global enrollment management and student success at New York University, one of multiple experts who shared their insights. “It’s always hard for me to separate AI from just using data well.”
