  • Colleges need more nuance when considering the needs of adult learners, according to a marketing firm that has divided the category of would-be students into four archetypes: reinventors, scholars, change makers and seekers.
  • At the annual Educause technology conference in Chicago, privacy was top of mind for many campus officials. Colleges discussed their approaches to protecting the privacy of data, with some creating separate offices to monitor it and others preferring to view the issue as a shared concern.
  • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has published its final recommendations on how to increase the open sharing of MIT publications, data, software and educational materials. An open-access task force was convened in 2017 to update and revise MIT’s open-access policies. The task force published its final recommendations last week.
