Following on the announcement that the College Republicans at Harvard University will not endorse Donald Trump for president, the College Republicans at Pennsylvania State University have announced that they, too, will not endorse Trump. More than 70 percent of members did not want to endorse Trump, so the campus Republicans will not be endorsing the Republican nominee for president. "The reason as to why our membership chose to not endorse Donald Trump could be for a multitude of reasons that we did not test for, such as his comments regarding foreign policy, fiscal policy or his rash commentary towards members of the public. His policy views, however, certainly must have had an impact on our membership’s view of his candidacy, otherwise there would not have been such a large percentage of the membership against endorsing him," said a statement the group posted on Facebook.
Princeton University's College Republicans announced this week that the group "is not taking a definitive position on Donald Trump's candidacy."
Trump is not without College Republican support. The group at Yale University announced it would back him. "While not every member of our organization supported Trump in the primary, as an organization and branch of the GOP we support Republicans up and down the ballot. And yes, that includes supporting Donald Trump for president. We remain dedicated to achieving victory in the White House, here in Connecticut and in our hometowns," said a statement from the Yale group.
