Adjunct instructors at Miami Dade College voted to form a union affiliated with Service Employees International Union, 587 to 573, they announced Wednesday. The college now has the country’s largest adjunct union, according to SEIU. The college will not challenge the vote. “Their voice was heard, and we’d like to express our continuous support to our adjunct faculty as they transition into a new chapter with the SEIU,” Juan Mendieta, Miami Dade spokesperson, wrote in a statement to the Miami Herald.
