A rheumatology professor who worked at Ohio State and Pennsylvania State Universities pleaded guilty to making false statements on federal grant applications about his ties to China, a crime punishable by up to five years in prison, the U.S. Department of Justice announced in a press release. Song Guo Zheng admitted to making materially false statements on National Institutes of Health grant applications to hide his participation in a Chinese government-sponsored talent recruitment and his affiliation and collaboration with a Chinese university.
