Athletes at historically Black colleges have filed a class action lawsuit against the National Collegiate Athletic Association over its rules, which they say unfairly hurt Black colleges, NPR reported. The rules require college teams to hit certain academic benchmarks, but Black colleges maintain that this is unfair because the mission of Black colleges requires that they admit certain students who are at risk. The NCAA did not respond to requests for comment on the suit.
