Washington State University investigated Bryan Kohberger, a Ph.D. student charged with killing four University of Idaho students, around the same time as the murders, The New York Times reported.

Washington State was concerned about his conduct around women, counseled him over a verbal altercation with a professor and fired him from his job as a teaching assistant, the Times reported.

While faculty members were very concerned about his conduct, they did not link it to the Idaho murders. The University of Idaho’s campus in Moscow is seven miles from Washington State’s campus in Pullman.
