Several topics relevant to "Inside Digital Learning" readers received coverage from Inside Higher Ed's reporters and bloggers this week. Among the highlights:

  • Northeastern University's business school is partnering with Adtalem Global Education, the former DeVry Education Group. Through the new alliance, Adtalem and the D'Amore-McKim School of Business "will bring new products and services to the marketplace, leveraging subject matter expertise and content from Northeastern, and global distribution channels and financial services education and certification expertise from Adtalem," according to a news release from Adtalem. The first offering from the two entities will be a certificate-bearing online course on AI for financial services. Other endeavors are planned.
  • Joshua Kim, our "Technology & Learning" blogger, digs in to Goliath’s Revenge, a book about how existing large companies can beat start-ups at the innovation game. Josh's hot take: "Might traditional universities have more advantages in creating whatever comes next in higher ed than we realize?"
  • John Warner, who writes the "Just Visiting" blog, describes his mixed feelings at the announcement that Wiley would snap up the remains of the adaptive learning company Knewton -- "schadenfreude" that the $180 million experiment had failed, but "sadness" that the development probably won't slow the rush for ed-tech gold.
