Coursera Restores Access to Iranian Students
June 4, 2014
Most of Coursera's courses are once again available to students in Iran, the massive open online course providers announced on Tuesday. MOOC providers in January found their courses blocked in countries subject to economic sanctions, but after negotiating with the federal government, Coursera has restored access to students in Iran and Syria -- although those students still can't access courses in advanced STEM fields. The company is still working to be able to offer courses to students in Cuba and Sudan, according to a blog post.
