- The National University System has purchased technology from UniversityNow, a venture that has worked to create online, competency-based programs and that operates Patten University.
- Temple University forced the resignation of its business dean after concluding that officials there had submitted false information to U.S. News & World Report for years to try to inflate the ranking of its online M.B.A. program. The university said Moshe Porat, the dean, had dismantled the school's system for verifying the accuracy of data being submitted for rankings.
