The University of Michigan, after announcing last week that it would no longer cover testing for sexually transmitted diseases with the annual health fee, has reversed course, Mlive.com reported. A student petition captured 5,200 signatures in just a few days. The petition said: "This decision will disproportionately affect low income students, who will also have the hardest time getting access to medical care when their preventable STIs develop into much more serious (and costly) medical conditions."
