Managing Editor
 
The fabulous Alicia Peaker has accepted a position as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Digital Liberal Arts at Middlebury College! So, we need a new Managing Editor. This is a fully online position that pays $12 an hour for 10 hours per week ($480 a month). The Managing Editor will have the opportunity to gain professional experience managing a blog that currently generates an average of 85,000 views per month.
 
The Managing Editor is responsible for administering the blog, handling correspondence, and growing our social media presence. The job requires excellent copy editing skills, management and interpersonal skills, and familiarity with content management systems including Drupal and Wordpress.

The position begins on August 1, but the candidate must be available for a few hours of paid training in mid to late-July.
 
Permanent STEM Author
 
GradHacker also seeks new Permanent Authors. Our ideal candidate is a grad student from a STEM field with experience writing for the web. Authors at GradHacker have two primary responsibilities. They provide at least one post per month and serve one month per academic year as copy editors. Authors are compensated in the form of Amazon gift cards at a rate of of $20 per post and $50 per month of copyediting. 
 
The position requires excellent communication skills, creativity, the ability to collaborate, and attention to detail. GradHacker authors enjoy a readership that generates about 85,000 unique pageviews per month on InsideHigherEd.com. Permanent authors build relationships outside their home institutions, refine their writing for the web, and collaborate with other authors and editors in growing the project.
